Team
We strongly believe that ‘MusiKenya’ will help to improve the quality of music education while influencing positive change in Kenyan society. Influential organizations, such as Kenya National Commission for UNESCO (KNATCOM) and the University of Embu (UoE) share our values and have already started supporting our program. This inspires us to achieve outstanding results, whilst being aware of the challenges ahead. Our team combines proven expertise in different musical fields, such as teaching (from elementary to university level), performing (as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestral member) and is varied in stylistic diversity (including improvising). We are organizers, artistic directors, program founders, music professors and we have experience as jurors and examiners of international competitions and education systems. One of the team has lived in Kenya and experienced first hand the cultural issues, imbalance of wealth and privilege and the day to day struggles that many Kenyans face to simply survive. Each member of the team will share their skills unreservedly and work hard, committed to empowering our participants and equipping them for a brighter musical and personal future.
